One thing that I don't understand is how Jack, who was so hesitant to kill the pig at first, was so happy about killing a pig later on in the book. Is it a guy thing (Malick? let us know please) or is he just weird? Or is this some kind of human nature that I have somehow skipped out on? I know for me if I set out to do something and don't do it, the next time I try to do it I'm even more scared than before.
